Casey called me this morning to tell me my new granddaughter will arrive today. Needless to say I'm very excited. Little Espen should be arriving soon. They've been told their having a girl and while I won't be disappointed if it's a boy I'm REALLY excited about a little girl. Our family doesn't have many girls and we need some little princess'.
I was always reluctant to be a Grandma in the past, not so much because it's a sign of aging but because I didn't feel my life was on track enough to enjoy the process of being a Grandma. However, I've learned that being a Grandma isn't something you can plan, when the time is right it happens.
As I sit here anticipating the joy of becoming a Grandma I realize it's a precious time in our lives. It's made even more special because I know how long Casey & Rachel waited to find each other. They are so perfectly suited to each other and now they are going to share that special bond with their daughter.
